Store hours are 7 am until 7 pm (Friday & Sat until 8 pm)

 

Strawberry General Store is known for its kindness! General friendliness is essential. Our valued cashiers have a mission to give customers a great first impression. They smile and greet everyone who comes in, happy to go above and beyond to assist customers. Cashiers are also the last person to speak with customers, which is a crucial chance to make sure they’ve found everything they need and leave happy. Our cashiers have a wide range of responsibilities which include but are not limited to handling transactions, counting change, bagging purchases, upselling, facing merchandise and cleaning. We will cross train cashiers in other roles so that we have a fabulous and efficient team all season.  

 

Cashier | 20 + hours per week | $18/hour

 

Responsibilities

Kindness to customers and coworkers

Complete customer transactions

Count change

Bag purchases

Upsell when appropriate (offer the fudge promotion, etc)

Complete fishing /hunting license transactions

Balance register at close of shift

Answer phone / take messages

Wipe counters

Face merchandise

Check expiration dates

Tag/price merchandise

Stock merchandise as needed

Dust shelves and merchandise

Sweep inside/outside

Mop as needed

Outside garbage/cleanliness

Assist with shower rentals

Porta-potty check (toilet paper)

Bag ice

Stock wood bundles

Coffee station

Fill water jug (if physically capable)

Complete closing duties (closing cashier)

 

Requirements

​

Availability during the 3 Big Summer Holidays and month of July

A positive, upbeat and friendly attitude

Computer proficiency preferred 

Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred

Ability to count change (register provides amount)

​Ability to load & use a tag gun & price gun

Detail oriented

Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Adhere to dress code and wear provided shirt and name tag
